Dry Needling & Electro-Acupuncture

DRY NEEDLING IS A METHOD OF ACUPUNCTURE THAT USES THE PRECISE INSERTION OF NEEDLING INTO TRIGGER POINTS, WHICH ARE LOCALIZED AREAS OF MUSCLE TIGHTNESS.

Dry needling and trigger/motor point acupuncture techniques are used primarily to reduce pain and discomfort associated with musculoskeletal conditions, spasms, nerve entrapment or chronic pain syndromes.

How It Works

A motor point is a specific location where the motor nerve enters a muscle and when stimulated with an electrical pulse, will cause a twitch response. By targeting these motor points with acupuncture, motor function is enhanced, muscle strength is improved and pain or dysfunction can be alleviated.

A trigger point is an irritable spot in the fascia or skeletal muscle. By releasing these taut and sensitive bands, we can relieve muscle spasms and decrease pain.

Dry needling and motor point/trigger point acupuncture is used to decrease local and referred pain, improve range of motion, correct inhibition/imbalances and improve blood circulation.
