How It Works

Cosmetic acupuncture works by causing tiny micro traumas to the skin, which signal the body to send collagen, elastin and microcirculation to the face and treatment area

Triggers a self-repair response in the skin, while also addressing the internal imbalances that may contribute to aging (digestion, hormones, stress, sleep, etc.) 

Stimulates muscles that have become too flaccid, and relaxes muscles that are too tight

What to Expect

Intake Process

We discuss your goals and come up with a treatment plan. We focus on a whole body approach, so we address your cosmetic concerns at the root cause.

Facial Cupping

This gentle technique stimulates more blood circulation in the skin and muscles of the face. Don’t worry- the cups we use on the face will not leave the marks that you may experience with body cupping.

Acupuncture Treatment

We use tiny and ultra thin needles that are not painful. We also treat the skin during this time with a Celluma Light Therapy device, which emits specific wavelengths of red and blue light and increases cell turnover while improving blood flow.

Gua Sha/Facial Massage

We provide a gentle, yet effective, manual therapy to improve circulation while also draining lymph. This helps relieve congestions from the pores, break up adhesions and tightness in your facial muscles, and addresses the deeper layers of the skin.

 FAQs

  • You will receive forms to fill out online via email prior to your first appointment and will set up your online patient account. Prior to treatment, we recommend eating a light snack, staying hydrated and avoiding caffeine. We ask you to please arrive without makeup.

  • Treatments are recommended 1-2X a week for a total of 10 treatments. This allows the body the proper amount of time to repair the dermis and give long-lasting results to the skin. Maintenance treatments are suggested every 6-12 weeks.

  • Appointments are 60 minutes. This includes intake, facial cupping, acupuncture treatment with LED light therapy and facial gua sha/massage.

  • Cosmetic acupuncture is a safe and gentle treatment with no downtime and without the side effects of more invasive cosmetic treatments. It is uncommon, but possible, to experience some pinpoint bleeding and bruising. We are trained to minimize the possibility of bruising.

  • If you are pregnant or experience chronic migraines, it may not be the right time for you. In addition, you must wait 4 weeks after receiving botox or fillers.
